Bundeswehr Tropentarn Field Shirt

Tropentarn (often mistakenly called Wüstentarn) is the arid-environment variant of Germany’s Flecktarn camouflage, issued by the Bundeswehr for dry and semi-arid regions. It replaces dense greens with tans and browns while retaining the same proven Flecktarn layout.

These shirts are nearly identical to standard Flecktarn field shirts, with minor variations such as mesh-ventilated armpits on some models. They are less common on the surplus market and make an excellent everyday field shirt.

Bundeswehr Parka Sizing Chart (Nr.Gr.)

Measure your height (barefoot) and chest circumference (over a t-shirt, snug but not tight). Find where they intersect for your Nr.Gr. size. If between sizes, go larger—especially for height.

Approximate US Men's Jacket Equivalents: These are guidelines only (e.g., US M ≈ chest 38-40"). Surplus fits oversized.
