SANDF Pattern 83 Grootsack

The Pattern 83 Grootsak is a classic South African Defence Force field pack developed during the 1980s as part of the SADF Pattern 83 load-bearing system. “Grootsak” translates roughly to “big bag” in Afrikaans, which is a pretty accurate description.

Built from durable Nutria Brown Cordura nylon, the Grootsak was designed for extended patrols and carrying large sustainment loads. It features a spacious divided main compartment, lower zippered access, four large external pockets, padded shoulder straps, a padded waist belt, and heavy-duty webbing throughout.
