A true Cold War classic, the Swiss M71 Steel Combat Helmet is an authentic piece of Swiss military history. Introduced in 1971 and widely issued beginning in 1975, the M71 replaced the aging M18 helmet series as Switzerland modernized its armed forces during the Cold War.

Built with the precision and durability associated with Swiss military equipment, the M71 features a heavy-duty hardened steel shell with a distinctive rounded profile and flared sides. The exterior is finished in textured olive drab paint, designed to reduce glare and provide a rugged military appearance.

Inside, the helmet features a four-pad leather suspension liner, complete with an adjustable drawstring and felt sizing inserts for a customizable fit. A four-point leather chinstrap with metal hardware helps secure the helmet during wear. Two ventilation holes at the rear of the shell provide additional airflow.
