Original Yugoslav military scout/sniper camouflage suit issued for reconnaissance and observation roles. This is a dedicated camouflage over-uniform, intended to be worn over a basic field shirt and pants.
In 1968, the JNA introduced the improved M68 MOL pattern and suit your classic Yugoslav scout/sniper oversuit. This three-color design (irregular greens, browns, and earthy/yellowish tones in a branch-like arrangement) was specifically tailored for summer/spring Balkan environments: dense woods, mountainous karst regions, and mixed foliage. Influences are debated some trace it to German WWII Sumpftarn (swamp camouflage) used by the Waffen-SS, while others note visual similarities to an enlarged U.S. ERDL pattern but it was a domestic Yugoslav development.
